Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

I created the app and Clicked on Working Preview and Entered some data and saved it. I checked on sql server and the data is saved.
I can publish on localwebroot but how do I run it on mobile? Do I need to install the Application server still on the client before accessing on mobile?

you create a new profile and publish to that profile, (not local developer machine) a site that will be hosted by you or via an isp like zebrahost. for example www.jetson.com possibly with a port.
then the mobile app will connect to that site. since that site can insert, update and delete the mobile app can do via that site. mobile is the front end for the server and the server will communicate (process the alpha commands) with the sql server.
ps: you need to develop the components for the mobile like ux/list/viewboxes etc.,
        thanks for reading

Thanks for the reply, yes users can of course use any mobile device as long as it is connected to the Online Server and when the App is deployed online thru Zebrahost,
What if the application is not deployed online?

Edit: I found out that the Application Application Server needs to be running on the Computer where the Sql Server database is installed.
Using the Remote Test Feature of Alpha, a user can copy the link to the clipboard or sent thru email, I tried to input the link on my Desktop Browser and it is updating records
to the sql server database, I have two problems with this approach, I need to install the application server on every client, Other developers can see the application server running and be able to see the Serial or activation key of the Alpha Application server app, 2nd problem is that the link generated using remote test is too long, sample generated link is http://MYPC/LivePreview/Abc_PageLayo...=true&93440176
but it is not working on a Mobile even if the mobile is connected to the same WIFI connection

You're not running a mobile app... you're running a web app on a browser in a mobile device... 2 very different things.

Edit: I found out that the Application Application Server needs to be running on the Computer where the Sql Server database is installed.
Incorrect... your SQL database can reside anywhere... remember your AlphaDAO Connection string defines your data source.

I think you need take a really big step back... think about what you need to accomplish and then familiarize yourself with how Alpha / Alpha Web Server / SQL Databases work with each other.

Your comments about application servers needing to be installed on every client and remote test links indicate a misunderstanding about all this works. You should go right back to the doc introductions and Getting Started tutorials.

Sorry , Language barrier, I used the word "client", instead of my customer, I guess I a have to do a lot of explaining here if I will continue with the question.
I realised that the Title of the Thread is not exactly what I meant.Again I am so sorry about that.

I made sure that the question below is exactly what I meant .
About deployment options to Mobile using Phonegap or any other approach, does the Alpha Anywhere need to be hosted Live (Zebrahost etc) or on a Private Server before using the Alpha app on mobile Devices?

Yes, the Alpha / PhoneGap Build app needs to communicate with it's published counterpart in an Alpha Server in order to run server code and communicate with a SQL database.
