Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Show Hide button in frame using Alpha Style

    I am using the Alpha style for my UX controls. When I do, it seems to ignore show/hide icons in frames.

    Attempted built in images, SVG images, images in the project folder....nothing works.

    Switching away from the Alpha Style fixes the issue.

    Suggestions? Thanks

    Re: Show Hide button in frame using Alpha Style

    One problem I have had in the Alpha style is "color: white; "

    By that, I mean that often the default style places White on White.

    Trying doing something to test like color: red;

    Not sure this will help if not build us a page that is static and I will get one of the boys to look at it.

      I'm assuming you're using the "Modern" option of the Frame type... you've not said.

      I'm not sure that this is a color issue. The Alpha style uses an svg icon... which is initially set up as a "src" and then interpreted when rendered. However, an error is produced. Are you getting errors on the page when you click the frame title Bar?

      Further, I'm not sure that the full svg element is being produced. I've sent a test UX to Alpha.

        Re: Show Hide button in frame using Alpha Style

        Hi David and Michael,

        Thank you for taking the time to look at this.

        Yes...I should have mentioned that I was using the modern option for the frame. I am able to get an icon and label to appear if I put the following code in for the label of the frame

        HTML Code:
        <img id="frm01" src="svgIcon=#alpha-icon-addSquare:icon,24" /><span id="fm001">Test</span>
        However, that hard codes the image and of course won't show the on off variation of the icon. Placing any variation of that code in the icon definition does not work.

        David, thank you for submitting the sample to Alpha....hopefully they can address it in the future. Not a deal breaker but it is nice to have the icon for users...otherwise it is a bit cryptic for novice users (which I work with a lot)

        Michael, I have tried css variations of the frame color to see if that solves the white issue you mentioned, but I did not figure out a way to make it work.

        Thanks again

        Greg

          Re: Show Hide button in frame using Alpha Style

          Greg, here's a workaround that uses the default icons that Alpha uses... although it does hard code them... a bit.

          Let's say that your Frame Control ID is "FRAME_1" - this is the Frame Begin Properties Frame ID.

          In the onRenderComplete event of your UX...

          Code:
          $ss('{dialog.ComponentName}.SHOWHIDEPANELIMG.FRAME_1.R1',{display: ''});
          Create a Javascript Function...

          Code:
          function frameShowIcon(){

          	$ss('{dialog.ComponentName}.SHOWHIDEPANELIMG.FRAME_1.R1',{display: ''});

          }
          For your Open icon...

          Code:
          CSS/Alpha/icons/chevronDown.svg
          For your Closed icon...

          Code:
          CSS/Alpha/icons/chevronright.svg
          For the onOpen Function AND onClose Function...

          Code:
          frameShowIcon
          Now... my LivePreview CSS folder is uppercase. Case matters for this stuff... so check the case on your CSS folder sitting under the A5Webroot/LivePreview folder.

          Under LivePreview/CSS I have Alpha/icons which holds the svg icons. For whatever reason, my published css folder is lowercase.

          Attached is a sample UX.
