Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

UX Component - panel layout question

I have a UX component that will have several panels. Each panel will have the exact same company logo at the top. Seems to me that it would be poor design to have that logo load for each panel. What I was thinking about doing was using panel layout and panel navigator to basically make the top panel stay static (with the logo), and the lower half of the page would scroll between different panels, actually set to programmatic with buttons to navigate. I'm not asking for help with the panel setup, I have already got the basic functionality working. But what I don't like is the fact that there is line that shows up between the upper and lower half of the screen. I don't want the line to appear, as this aesthetically does not look nice. So here is my question, can I:

A: change some setting to get rid of any visible line between panels.

    or

B: is there a better way to set this up so that I have a static logo remain at the top of the page.

Right click on the Panel Navigator and add a panel header so that you have the same header with your logo no matter what panel card that you navigate to.

I was playing with the header the other day and got the same line in my page. Maybe that was just in preview mode though, I didn't actually publish the page. Maybe I will have to try that again.

Re: UX Component - panel layout question

If you want an easy layout for a persistent logo at the top and maybe a logged in as: feature why not consider using a UX with your actual app as an embedded component? That way the header stays put - maybe even a footer?
Everything else sits inside the "middle" of the space.
The visible line can be removed easily by setting the styles border to 0px and you might even want to set the background to transparent - but that's all you in the way it looks. You might want to create a new style and edit it from the top down to look the way you want it to with out having to individually style all of your headers, etc.

Hmm... trying to 0px the border. It seems to reduce it some, but there seems to still be something in the header that is creating that line that I can't get rid of.

Try a 0px on the top margin you might be looking at the background of the panelcard

Tried that. Can't seem to find the right setting to make the line go away.

Re: UX Component - panel layout question

The "line" could be caused by so many different cases:
                - a top margin, padding, border, even background image on the lower DIV
                - a bottom margin, padding, border, etc... on the top DIV
                - a top or bottom padding, etc... on a "wrapper" DIV surrounding one of the other DIVs
                - an "empty" 1 or 2 px height DIV or other HTML element between the 2 DIVs in question

The source of the "line" should jump out at you if you inspect the source of the web page

Ah yes, good old inspect element. Why didn't I think of that. Yes, that did the trick, figured out that it was a small border for ios7panelbody in the ios7 style sheet. Thanks!
