Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Styles On New Install Not Working

Some Styles on new Alpha install of 4.4.4 on a new Windows 10 build are not working.

    Android light -- Yes
    Android dark -- Yes
    Alpha -- No
    IOS7 -- No

Apperience is like no CSS exists at all when previewed.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Re: Styles On New Install Not Working

Ok here is more detail on what I am experiencing.

      Currently Installed:
      AA_Version.PNG
this is what my local css\alpha directory looks like:
      css_alpha.PNG
create generic ux order invoice (grGrey is default style) -- looks right:
      sample_UX.PNG
Change from grGrey to Alpha(see tweaks):
      select alpha.PNG
This is the result of the change:
      Alpha.PNG

I have create a new project -- same result.
Projects that I have been working on for months -- using the "Alpha(see tweaks)"
all look like the sample attachment I just included in this post.

        How to duplicate this error.

        1. Created new folder
        2. Create new project
        3. Create new UX control (Customers-Simple) is what I am using, but any UX will work)
        4. GrGrey is the default style name. Note that customize style colors and fonts is not an available option util you select a SASS style.
4a. Run working preview and see that the controls render with their css attributes correctly.
        5. Change style name to "Alpha(see tweaks)".
5a. Note that style colors and fonts is not bolded.
5b. Run working preview and see that the UX's controls render with their css and SASS attributes correctly.
        6. Click on the style colors and fonts button (in properties) -- select any of the predefined color pallets at the bottom (including none) and then
6a. The selection for style colors and fonts will not be bold after you make your selection.
        7. Now run working preview and see that the UX's controls render with NO css or SASS attributes.
        8. If you change the style name back to GrGray (Save) and then try to re-select "Alpha(see tweaks)" it shows the bolded line item of "style colors and fonts" (in properties).

        9. One more note -- once a UX or grid control's "style colors and fonts" bold out -- you cannot get a working preview or live preview for that matter to work correctly, until you create a new folder and a new project.

Super Frustrated... SASS and CSS is not working on new install of Windows 10 and Alpha Anywhere 4.4.5.

I uninstalled AA using the Add or Remove programs. Then reinstalled. cannot get SASS and CSS to work properly as I have described above.

Another clue is the following console error regardless of the UX I publish locally or in LivePreview:
            http://localhost:1580/LivePreview/cs...es/style.css?2

You could try the Fresh start option in Windows Defender Security Center in Windows 10 but before you start read carefully description. After Fresh start delete AA install folder if other location than default c:\...program files.... and then do AA developer full install again.

This is exactly how this issue started:

AA was working perfectly -- but Windows 10 after a patched update would SPIKE CPU to 100% if I was running SolidWorks 2015.... So recommend actions was to Fresh Start Windows 10 and my only option was to delete files.

                So Fresh Windows 10 Pro
                --- SolidWorks (Fast and Snappy)
--- Alpha Anywhere (Fast and Snappy)
                --- Office
                --- MySQL
                --- BootCamp Drivers

AA Was Fast and Snappy -- but to my dismay -- SASS and CSS not working....
