I know this has been asked and answered and I know that a repeating section in a UX within a repeating section is not possible. But how would I do the following scenario.
Entering orders on a typical invoice type application.
Repeating section consists of the order items. Each order item would have variables like Color, Size, Weight, etc. And each of those would have variable definitions like Blue, Red, Green, and Small, Medium, Large, and 12lbs, 14lbs, etc respectively.
How on earth would you go about this when ENTERING the order. I can get it to work using list controls with child/grandchild scenario, but can't seem to figure out how to get the data INTO the order tables.
Products come from the following SQL tables:
Product_Information (Product Name/Descriptions)
Product_Variables (color, size, weight, etc.)
Product_Variables_Items (blue, red, green, etc.)
They get entered into the following when an order is created.:
OrderInfo (Customer name, address)
OrderItems (repeating Section with the Product_Information selections Product Name/Descriptions)
OrderItemsVariables (The Product_Variables color, size, weight and Product_Variable_Items like blue, red, green, etc.)
I've got a shopping cart that I'm able to do all of this using XBasic and writing it all to tables upon submit, but would I have to do that for this scenario? Is there any simpler way using one of the components?
The typical invoicing app is easy. It's adding the variables that's the tricky part.
