Hello All,
This is a desktop application I started in 2018 and walked away from and just getting back to it to relearn.
I have turned on Alpha's internal security. The master account which I assume is Administrator has a password 123.
I have an autoexec script file with the code
dim global whch_bttns as C
whch_bttns = a5_get_user_assignments("123", user_name())
If this runs I get a message user name "administrator" not found when I log in as Administrator.
If I go to my user/group manager call button the security opens, but when I close it the message user not found appears again.
If I create a user name and assign it to Alphas group administrators and log in all is well and all functions function as they should.
If I remove the autoexec script file, I login just fine and no messages, so it is from that file I believe and I need it to pass the login user details into the variable unless there is another way from the startup to do this.
I use the variable whch_bttns to control what a user can do with a form like delete records or add records. Everything works fine except as the master administrator alpha account I cannot log in as administrator and get administrator rights with the variable but I can manage system security, so I must be missing or doing something wrong on this script. Users are controlled and users with group administrators can do all the security settings in my forms, so that all works.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!!
