What type of button to use

Hello everyone. I want to put several buttons on a table, called (seating_chart), when you press on the button it will put an "X". I do not want to do anything else except that. What I am trying to do is a seating chart, the buttons will represent tables people are seating at or available. When people are seating at the table, I would press the button and it would show the table not available with an "X".

There are no Alpha buttons that do that natively. You would need to code the onpush to be

given a button with the object name tool_select11 with a blank label.

Given what you asked for the button to do, realize that nothing is preserved. If you close and reopen the form all buttons revert to blank.

You can use a button or a piece of text. If you use a piece of text, the "X" can be data driven. If seat = taken, then show an X otherwise, show a blank.

If you use a button, you'll want to use javascript to change the label of the button when you click it.

Hi Guy,
If this is for an event, are the number of tables static or not? Either way you could construct a set with the event info as the header and link to a temp table on the date. Your button script could add fields for the number of tables you need and then on your form, add hot spots over the table fields to add or remove the X - and place Stan's code there.

Hot Spot code:

If you need to add a new event you can clear the temp table fields or zap and 'append' again with the number of fields you need for the new date.
