http_get_page2 - cache?

So I have a desktop app that sends out patient appointment reminder texts. I'm finding that http_get_page2 and/or alpha is caching the message results and messing up my appointment updates.

The code will loop through an sql query to send the appointments and inserts the sms particulars into a sql database. I then loop through those records to check for text results from the patient and updates the appointment calendar in another database. The code works but it seems I'm dealing with a cache issue and I can't seem to find how to turn it off or clear it before it checks for results.

I can unload a5 and re-load the app and it updates the records accordingly. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

My poor choice of words: I meant to say the updates don't occur and messes up the goal of the application.

The function fails to retrieve updated data from the url upon a subsequent call of the script (every 15 minutes). So the program sends the text message and then checks for replies every 15 minutes. If a reply is received within the first 15 minutes, the function works. The next time the script is called and someone else replies it fails and I have to unload and re-load to get it to work.

http_get_page2() using a Microsoft ActiveX control that automatically caches quite aggressively. There are 2 approaches to address this:

1. Make sure the URL for each request is unique. This can be done by appending an otherwise meaningless query string to the URL.
2. Use a different HTTP function, such as http_get(), to send your requests.
