The first thread I created for this issue has gone completely off-topic, so I'm creating a new one.
Here's my question: How can I make Alpha Five encryption compatible with the corresponding PHP encryption? Specifically, a5_encrypt_string(), encrypt_string(), or a similar function.
I have searched the documentation and forums on this topic already. I may have missed something though, so if you find the answer to my specific problem, please send me a link!
These posts basically ask the same question, but don't have an answer:
http://msgboard.alphasoftware.com/al...ad.php?t=77504
http://msgboard.alphasoftware.com/al...ad.php?t=77539
Here's my general situation:
I am trying to use PHP to decrypt strings encrypted with A5, but thus far have been unable to get it to work. For a5_encrypt_string, given the same text, key, cipher, mode and initialization vector, PHP and A5 produce different outputs. For encrypt_string, the output seems more in line with what PHP produces, but I can't figure out what cipher, mode, and initialization vector it uses.
Any useful information on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
(The thread I previously created on this subject doesn't contain any useful information, but here it is for continuity: http://msgboard.alphasoftware.com/al...d.php?p=543685 )
