I placed o button on the grid to send a report via Email. As soon as I click the button, I instantly get this error message:
"Message could not be sent because of an error"
I also have a button to print a report for which I created an argument for the report filter which works great. I seems to me there are a couple of issues here:
1) There is no way to define an argument in order to attach a report.
2) The error message is instant as if there is something wrong with the button itself.
3) Alpha fails to find the first step in the code.
Where do I begin to look to solve this problem?
UPDATE:
I looked at the WebApplicationsDemo. I think it's the incognito name for AlphaSportsWeb. This is what I found.
1. There is an email field in the Customer table. It has no field rules formatting.
2. The field on the form is set to Alpha5 email. For experimentation, I changed it to default email.
3. Opened the grid Customergrid_wdetailview and examined the Grid and Detail fields.
4. The Email in the Detail is set to a text field.
5. The Email field in the Grid is set to a Link
6. The Display What In Link property is set to Value in Field
7. The Link Address Type property is set to Field value is an email address.
8. As far as I can tell, there are no other settings other than the default settings.
9. The grid view contains the Email field.
10. Clicking on the email link in the email field brings up the email window, enter test data and send email
11. Works great no matter if #2 above is set to A5 or default.
12. I mad all the changes in my grid to reflect the Demo.
13. Click on the email link and nothing happens.
I suspect the issue is in a setting that I've missed because I can send email with the demo using either the built-in A5 or the Default email. So, the question is, what have I missed? Or, perhaps the question is, Since the WebApplicationDemo is based on v9 whereas mine is based on v11, does v10 an v11 need to be updated?
Perhaps someone might take the time to follow my steps and let me know your results. That would be very much appreciated.
