Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Navbar not using <project Style>

Okay - I have changed all of my girds to use <Project Style> - and it works - with the exception of the navbar. I have the navbar displaying on a page called "pagetop". Pagetop is included on all of my pages; including the page that contains a tabbed ui.

When displayed on the tabbed UI page, it uses the project style. When displayed on any other page, it does not.

I assume that project style only applies to components and not a5w pages? Is that a correct assumption? So if I want to use this, I need to edit every a5w page to add some code to use the project style?

If so - what is that code? I don't see it referenced anywhere in the wiki.

Re: Navbar not using <project Style>

I should add .. I have gone as far as to recreate (from scratch) both the navbar and pagetop; without success. When I look at the code in pagetop.a5w, I see that it IS trying to use the style that I have specified as project style - but it still does not.

When I changed my navbar to <ProjectStyle> it started using different classes and I had to convert my old style.

Re: Navbar not using <project Style>

And while I am on the subject of the navbar .. I want that navbar aligned on the far right of pagetop - so that no matter what window I use, it is always on the far right. I have removed the container from it and my code shows that it should be aligned right - but it never is - it is always in the upper left hand corner of the window. Here's that code:

          <%a5 ?x_NAVBAR.Output.Body.navsysTBH %>

Re: Navbar not using <project Style>

That sounds like a bug to me .. but anyway .. so I have to figure out classes and the new style builder and build my own style?

Open up the style builder, all the new classes are in there in the Horizontal nav manu

Re: Navbar not using <project Style>

Regarding your first post here, is it true that every a5w page will have to be edited to use the <ProjectStyle>? If so, what do we need to put in the a5w pages where it says something like:

                    Code:

                    or

                    Code:

                    (thanks)

Re: Navbar not using <project Style>

That depends if the a5w page has a component on it. If it does, then that page will already have your project style included (via the component). If it doesn't have a component on it, then you will need to manually import any stylesheets you need.
