I have this in the AfterSearchSubmit in the Client Side Event.
{Grid.object}.toggleVisibility('SEARCH_PART');
When I first place it there, it worked great. Then, I made some changes to the search part by making it freeform on the first field and hiding the rest of the fields. From the first search after that, I get an error message: Unable to get value of the property 'display'. Object is null or undefined. While the search works, the Search Part does not go into hiding. Removing the code eliminates the error message. I removed the freeform and set the freeform back to it's original state but the same error message and performance takes place.
Creating a new grid still produces the error message. There are 5 fields in the search part and the error message pops up on all fields which tells me it's not a corrupted field. I created a new grid on a different table but still get the same error message. So, it's not table corruption. Next, I used the code on a previous version of the database and it still produces the error message. I'm using the latest build and also tried reverting to a previous build. That didn't help either.
I'm wondering, what value of what property 'display' is it referring to? Why did it work great prior to the changes? At this point, I don't think it has anything to do with changing the layout of the search part.
Perhaps someone would copy and paste the code into the Client-side Events and see if it works. Of course you must have a search part. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but my fields in the search part are kookups.
Thanks much,
kenn
