Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Landscape Reports

Has anyone had problems with doing a report in landscape format?
I do the Quick Report specifying Landscape/Letter making sure that I save it but then when I Open in Report Editor it reverts to Portrait, or rather Custom Page Size.
Worse yet, if I close it and re-open it I sometimes get the Quick report with my grouping gone or the Report Editor with the Landscape/Letter settings but the page only shows as Portrait size.
    Very, very frustrating!

Just applied all the patches and restarted my machine. It seems to be working better. If you stick to adjusting titles it sizes everything else.

      Hello Claire,

then buy their utility to print in landscape,
      What utility?

If you want help in using this very powerful software, then I'm afraid you are not going about it in a very friendly manner. Dont know how you got results on other forums but I suggest you change your attitude if you want help in this forum.

Claire DelaFuente, you have been here seven hours, and it looks like you are starting to turn into a troll. Not sure if your unhappy about the branding you mentioned from another thread, of if that is an excuse to bash a product because your actually a developer of a competing product. (Stuff I have seen before.)

If your an actual customer, you should realize it takes more then 7 hours to learn how to use it, or any piece of software for that matter. If the branding issue is a real problem for you, have you thought about actually contacting the company and discussing it with them? They may actually work something out for you. Also there was a post where an experienced member mentioned that it is possible to just code around it, and you didn't pursue that.

After spending as long as I have to not only learn the software, but to learn Xbasic, Javascript, JQuery, so I can do more things with this software, you are coming off as quite lazy to me.

But the fact that the picture you had in your earlier post looked like you simply opened up Alpha Sports, clicked a pic, and immediately started to complain makes me think you are a competing developer who need to do dirty tricks like this because their product can't compete in the market.

And I apologize to everyone for adding to this very off topic subject that interferes with the purpose of this forum. I assume a moderator will remove the above off topic comments, and mine.
