I am sure another silly thing I am doing, but after two years of developing in fits and starts, I am ready to make my application available on the net such as it is.
And...of course, I didn't get it to work. I did try watching Steve Workings Total Training videos, but they are aimed at publishing to a hosting service. I am publishing to my own local Windows 2003 Server which Alpha is installed on.
My main suspicion is I have been using demo copies all this time and have yet to apply my developer's license for A5 as well as the application server. I was never quite sure how the final setup was going to end up so was reluctant to activate. I did put the license # in for Alpha, but do not see where you put it in for application server. I have not yet activated either.
I created another profile as Steve directed called ProductionServer which is published into the A5Webroot directory along with the localhost version. I have set the default page to index.a5w and the publishing type to Publish Locally. Since I am using a PostgreSQL backend, I set [PathAlias.ADB_Path] = undefined
When I try to access via an external browser, I get a 403 error which talks about not allowing directory browsing. Therefore, I know I have my router setup correctly with port forwarding to my A5 Application Server machine.
Thanks for looking....Andy
