Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Publishing problem

I'm using V11 Build 2549 and everything works fine publishing to localhost but when I publish to my remote server (zebrahost) the CSS files are definitely not correct (and they have been fine up to this point). All of a sudden, rather than getting GlassOlive I'm getting something in blue that shows no gridlines. Where do I look for the problem?
    Thanks
    Garry

    Re: Publishing problem

More info. Since then I have tried changing Project Style to <project style> GrBlue. I thought maybe Glass Olive was no longer supported (desperate thought). I cleared publishing history and republished all files. No change!
I have made no changes to the profile since the time everything worked and my client is getting very upset. Help!

      Howdy Garry,

... (and they have been fine up to this point). All of a sudden, ...
What was changed at "all of a sudden"?

From what I gather, things were working just fine, locally and remote, until "all of a sudden". Did you add a new component, A5 page, make changes to the project properties, profile, etc. Also, when you say "localhost", is that using localhost/folder_name_in_a5webroot and not Live or Working Preview?

One thing you could do to test is to rename the CSS folder on the remote site to something like CSS_Original and the copy and paste the CSS folder from the local install.

Additionally, and I am not sure if this is a concern as it "was" working before, but 'OliveGlass' is a "legacy" style.

      Cheers!

        Re: Publishing problem

Excellent question! After writing that message (sometimes it's good to see things 'out loud'), I thought - no changes, then why republish? The reason was that one of the options on the tabbed ui was no longer needed. I'm not sure why that should have an effect.
At any rate, since changing the ProjectStyle to GRBlue didn't seem to have any effect I changed it back to GlassOlive, made sure that all components were set to <ProjectStyle> (they were), cleared publishing history and republished all files.
LogIn Screen came up in GlassOlive - so far, so good.
        TabbedUI came up in GrBlue!
Choosing a menu selection produced a grid with no lines and going to a Detail View to Edit was totally unreadable.
Frustrated, I logged out... and the LogIn screen came up in GrBlue!
Now, totally confused, I reloaded the site in a new window.
LogIn Screen came up in GlassOlive and everything worked!
Maybe the problem is with my remote server caching something?

... ahhhhhh .... you see? something always happens at "all of a sudden"! LOL

However, as you say, I can't see how that small change alone would have caused the issue. I am not that familiar with the server caching, but that is probably where the trouble is. I have run into this on occasion and what I did to "fix" it was manually move the CSS files to the remote server (copy & paste while in RDC or with FTP using FileZilla).
          Cheers!
