I have a client who has a system for monitoring the volume of product in a group of tanks. Additions and deductions are made daily and sometimes product is moved from one tank to another.
The expected amount in any tank depends on the amount at the end of the previous day, the amount added, the amount removed and the amount transferred in or out from other tanks. Once a day, they measure each tank, so there is a daily record of adds, deletes and measurements for each tank and he wants to show daily differences in expected versus actual.
I have created a function that recalculates the records for all tanks for all days of the month and put in the "AfterUpdateRecords" event. It is fast enough that I can run it every time the user hits "Submit". Sometimes the data is entered daily, sometimes weekly and sometimes the whole month at a time, so I don't want to use the AfterUpdateRecord event and run the calculation multiple times.
I've got a refresh button on the grid, but I'm getting complaints about having to push the second button. So, my problem is, I want to refresh the grid after the "AfterUpdateRecords" event runs. I've tried using e.Javascript in the AfterUpdateRecords event (adding e to the function) but Alpha burps that up. I've also tried adding the javascript response array to the event...same result.
I can't see an obvious event that runs after the AfterUpdateRecords event either in the server side or the client side event lists. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
