Hi,
I'm completely lost with this.
Setup:
~Dialog 2 component that is w/ 1 repeating section
~linking with 3 tables as below.
~~Course (not in repeating section)--'header'
~~Registration(in repeating section with registration Student table),
~~Student (in repeating section with registration table)
all are joined with their respective primary keys.
On my dialog 2 repeating section I enabled the lookup to the studentlastname field; this helps the user to find an existing account. If their is no record found the user just continues to enter the student tables's fields (address/phone/email, etc) to the repeating section. The user then (in the same repeating section) indicates the status of the student in the course (this populates to the registration table). This all works great if new records are being added (meaning no selection/lookup or changes)... HOWEVER, the problem arises when a user selects an existing account. upon trying to save and update the record (instead of adding)... I get an SQL error "One or more argument values were referenced in the SQL query, but were not found in the argument list." (very odd).
What I'm trying to accomplish is described above, but summarized here:
User creates the course (above the repeating section),
in the repeating section they:
~add the students (via either the lookup, or creating a new record) --if they information needs to be corrected (i.e. address/phone/email) then they can edit it to the address fields also shown in the repeating section. (The update of information--or even selection of current information/without updating) seems to be the only part I cant get to work and where it chokes!).
~Indicate the registration (that populates to the registration table).
I think this must be something very simple that i'm missing... or i've not full understood the process of using a repeating section.
I looked into using a View in this case (for Student/Registration) but is didnt help as the two need to be exclusive.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
thanks
lee
