Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Windows 8 _IE - not responding to Alpha v11

We have just moved our entire site to Zebra Host instead of spreading it across 2 vendors (OLM + Zebra). Everything works wonderfully on every browser except Windows 8 Internet Explorer. I have one "novice" lady who recently updated her machine and reports that it will not load.

IF you have WIN8 IE and since I trust you all (?) - could I solicit a test sampling from a few of you?

You should be able to at least get the home page. Please report your findings with reply to this thread.
If you want to dig deeper, send me a private message and I will give you the pass-code.

      Bill,

It should land on login.a5w automatically. At least that's what it does in everything and IE <8.

Maybe you have found the symptom!

        David,

Firefox works fine. IE10 does not, although IE10 in IE9 Mode works fine. Although I have no issue connecting to our intranet with IE10

So then is this really an IE issue - or an Alpha Isuue?
I cannot have web users upgrading their machines to have cool toys - then lose functionality with Alpha!
that will mess up 4 sites I have running.

If any of you would - please also try oldeschoolfilms.com
This site runs on Ipage servers, with an I-Frame looking at Alpha on Zebrahost.

Ran that there link in IE developer tools (F12) in IE8 standards mode:

LOG: FB.getLoginStatus() called before calling FB.init().
SCRIPT5007: Unable to get value of the property 'call': object is null or undefined
            utilities8.js, line 284 character 1
This error is not present in IE9.

Don't know. Like I said it seems to work fine on our intranet (in both compatibility mode or not) and Oldeschoolfilms.com seems to work fine.

                    David,

Your A5 site does not work on my Win 8 / IE 10 ("Asian characters" displayed) yet my A5 sites (same login.a5w pages) work just fine, as do the apps that are on the other side of the login. My sites are hosted on Go Daddy VPSs Windows 2008 R2.

As your film site is WordPress, I would expect that to run in "anything" :)

                    Cheers!
