Dialog w. repeating section not getting dirty

I have a dialog with a repeating section that has a summary total field. Another field on the form also uses that summary value and both fields update to whatever the repeating total is. But when I submit, the updated calc fields do not get posted to the MySql table. On the initial update when other fields are dirty, it posts correctly. But when I add or change child items, although the dialog reflects the correct values, it won't post them to the table. It's as if the dialog doesn't see the change in the calc fields. How can I get the dialog to recognize that the fields are dirty and make it post?

And for the record, both e.oldDataSubmitted and e.DataSubmitted both show the correct values. That is, the old (table) values and the new to be submitted values. Yet she won't actually post to the table.

Hello to understand better
1. You are using the dialog to edit the original record or new insertion
2. Are you using the action JavaScript submitdatatotable(s) or your own xbasic function
3. If it is your xbasic function,
do you mind posting the code?

Then how are updating the table record?

Yes then when you press submit button, you will need to call something in the aftervalidate event.
Is it an actionscript or your own xbasic function.

just before that line add this
e.dirtyColumns = e.dirtyColumns + crlf()+ "your_field_name"
and the data should update.
