retaining text format in reports

The problem: Users are typing text that includes new paragraphs and blank lines, (as well as bullets and numbering, but one step at a time). When the report is rendered in html or word, it displays as a solid block of text with no formatting.

The details: The backend field is Access memo, the report is a Layout report and the A5 field is static html. The html for one affected field is:

<font size="3">{preconcerns}</font>

The solution? Is there a way I can get text to display in the report, they way it was typed in?

(I know this must be a seriously basic question, but I've trawled the forum and videos - obviously too basic for most!)

I am not sure but see printHTML function, that might render the fonts as you desire.

Thanks Govindan, that got me on the trail.

The solution for all those newby's that want to make their reports include formatted text - is that text needs to be in html at the input end AND the printing end. To get users to enter text as html (text that can be formatted), go to the 'Text area properties' of the relevant field and check the HTML editor box. Follow your nose through this dialog (including asking for a pop-up editor if the option appears). The user enters html into an html editor rather than into the textbox/ area as before.

At the report end - using a 'layout' report, edit the field and enter the 'expression' as Govindan indicates above: printhtml(fieldname) and vios la!

use the <pre> tag (pre formatted):

You could also try on the a5w page something like this:
