Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Function Requested is not supported

I am receiving Function Requested is not supported when clicking Submit (when logged on App Server only).
Do not have any similar issues when on Local (in Live or Working Preview).

Published the same app on another App Server (both Zebra) and the app runs fine.

So, I updated my dev and app server to the same release as the Dev and App Server where the app works fine and still have same result - Function Requested is not supported when clicking Submit.

But now when I click on Live or Working Preview to view my Tabbed UI on local; I receive blank area where the buttons should be visible.

      Hi Steve,

Could you be more specific about your submit button? Is it a submit button for UX or Grid component? Something else? Pictures would be very helpful.

      Thanks!

Re: Function Requested is not supported

I believe it is happening due to the Alpha Server setup.
because - I have been able to publish the same app to a different Alpha App Server connected to the same MS SQL Server - successfully.
I have updated the Alpha version - did not solve the issue.
I am in the process of cloning the successful Alpha App Server and then will test that.
It seems to happen when working in a ux component.
See attached. Thank you. Function Requested Alpha Issue.jpg

Re: Function Requested is not supported

The most common cause of this error is using MS SQL Server and the wrong driver on the machine with the Application Server. See THIS thread

The machine with the application server must have the correct driver for the database being used. For example, if using SQL Server 2012, Native Client 11 is required on that machine.

What is likely happening is one of the servers has the correct driver, and one does not. The release notes also have some information on the correct driver under "
SQL Server - Date or Date/Time Fields - Errors - Installing correct Native Client"

            1-Published to App Server
-received Function Requested is not supported error when clicking submit|
-do not receive this in Working or Live Preview
2-Published same exact App to another App Server and it works fine
-using same MS SQL Server / Database
3-Cloned the working App Server and setup a new App Server (both at Zebra Host)
-receiving 500 Internal Server Error when attempting to login (after publishing to new app server)
-App Server and Dev Environment are both 12.3, Build 3065_4535 (the same)
***At this point I feel I should completely remove Alpha from my dev and do a fresh install
-any comments on this? Thank you.

              Have it working.
Still not sure why this all happened?
Using the cloned app server that has been updated to the latest release.
Had to delete the a5w page (tabbed ui) and then republish once tabbed_ui was re-generated.
              Thank you
