Debug using Save_to File, no workie( steve Woods)

Trying to use the Save_To_File as recommended by a post from Steve Woods.
Does not create the text file, I'm a newbe, so what am I missing? I try to save a customer record without a CusCode, which causes the Result.Cancel = .T., but the text file is not created in D:/DownLoads. I tried Preview and publishing it to a web page. Note: It does NOT create a new record, but does not create the Text file.

Here is the code from a grid builder event:

Result.Cancel is not a string variable, perhaps that is why?

Changed var to a string, per previous post, same results

I tested your code as-is on my system and it did create the text file, and showed the error message (if field was blank). Make sure that d:\Documents exists on the computer where you published your project.

That, and there is no "s" in my last name.

Thanks for the help steve. That rtn still doesn't print the error msg or Save_to_file. the folder D:\Downloads is there. I wonder why the error does not print?????

Always isolate. Put your save_to_file at the very top of that function and see if it works. Try just save_to_file("test","d:\downloads\test.txt"). Next, create an A5W page with just that save_to_file code, publish and open that page, see if it creates the file. Also, "d" must exist from the servers perspective. Can you go to drive D on that server? Try C to confirm. Always isolate.
