quick question - count on logical field

What would be the best way to create a quick on screen report that does a count on several fields? Grid or dialog? I'm not quite sure from the help information if I can even do a count on anything but numeric fields.

For instance the client fills in job information and selects several check boxes. After the jobs are complete, accounting wants a count of what type of jobs went through ie:

inkjet - 50 (total qty of the logical field inkjet)
laser - 32 " "
Mailer Type - 12 (total qty of a character drop down field)
Paper printed Qty - 3000 (total qty of the numeric field)

I believe what I'm looking for is some xbasic code that goes into the server events of each control field in a dialog. I know in foxpro it would be something like

x=0

do while not eof()
if inkjet = .t.
x = x+1

how would I code that in xbasic? I can't find it in the documentation

Can someone at least guide me to somewhere I can find the xbasic code for setting up a 'do while !eof()' statement?

I did just a quick search of My help file and found the following which might help you a little---heading off for the night now as past 2 am here, but if you still need more, I know I have several more examples I have either created or gleaned from the board.

This script searches for a customer whose last name is 'Smith'.

tbl = table.current()
search_name = "Smith"

tbl.fetch_first()

while .not. tbl.fetch_eof()
    if (trim(tbl.last_name) = search_name) then
        goto NAME_FOUND
    end if

    tbl.fetch_next()

end while

   ui_msg_box("Search", "Not Found.")

end

NAME_FOUND:

   ui_msg_box("Search", search_name + " has been found.")
end
