Create tables for AlphaMovies difficulties

I am trying to follow the tutorial on url http://support.alphasoftware.com/alp...lpv8/index.htm

Its starts off
"Creating a New Database

In the next procedure, you create a new database the name of this is
Enter the name "AlphaMovies.adb" into the File name field."

Then
"Creating Tables for AlphaMovies

In the next procedure, you create tables for AlphaMovies".

When it comes to saving, it shows a whole list of tables where the Inventory table should be added but if it's a new database surely they are not there in the box "Specify Table Name".

I wondered if anyone could see where I am going wrong please?

You are correct that you would not see all the table names there if you just created the very first table. And you could have easily proved that to yourself in a couple of minutes by actually doing the tutorial and seeing the screens as they come up. Now, you could consider this to be a problem or just realize, as is the case with tutorials for many software packages, that they are just showing you an overview of what you will see and not to concentrate too hard on the details. If I understand from your post as to what you are looking at, you will see that window for naming the table but yours should be empty until you start creating more tables. So the tutorial has shown you that you are in the correct place and just follow the instructions as to what to do next.

As for another point, I have not done this tutorial for years. However, I remember that when I did do it there were many little differences in the images. Mostly showing an image from a previous version of Alpha and the new dialog box (or whatever) is now slightly different. Don't let it stop you. The images are only a simple reference to let you know your are in the right place.

If things seem to be going out of whack, just post back and I'm sure someone can help.

Edit: I did a search for alphamovies and found other references in the forum that point out some inconsistencies. Don't know whether they are still valid or not but they might help you out when you get to those points of the tutorial.

Thats re assuring!
Guess I was believing that the "Help" would be completely correct and accurate but inconsideration of all of the versions and updates I expect it would almost be impossible.
I will be flexible in my endeavours in using the help files.
Good of you to point me in the right direction.
