Page Number Creation html

Anyone care to share how to create page numbers similar to (or somewhat close to) a grid but in html??

I'm displaying many records in an html only page. Not much info on this topic on the web. Any direction very much appreciated.

This filter, taken from the help
dim First as N
dim Last as N
vFilter = "between_record(" + "\"" + First + "\", " + "\"" + Last + "\")"

gives me this error:
qry = tbl.query_create()
Improper character"

Something a bit funny there....arguments are supposed to be numeric, are dimmed numeric, but they are created as character in the example....

Try this instead.

vFilter = "between_record(" + First + ", " + Last + ")"

query.filter = "between_record(" + First + ", " + Last + ")"
query.order = ""
query.options = ""
qry = tbl.query_create()
count = qry.records_get()
tbl.fetch_first()
...rest of script...

Am also looking at the other Betweens.

At last this is what is working:
dim First as N

between_record(first, last)

Now... can I get some direction here? :)

I'm getting this error:

Variable is of different type"

I don't know what to quote, not quote...
I tried: &First="+val("2")+"&Last="+val("4") and get same error message

Eric,
The error regarding not a logical means that the filter expression has not been evaluated which would produce a logical value--so currently I imagine it is simply the character filter that is being rendered...maybe an eval() should be used....

The second code snippet that produced the "Variable is of different type" error is probably due to web side requiring character instead of numeric????

Out of my element now and out of guesses...sorry I couldn't be more help...

I did finally create a method that works.
dim vPage as c
dim vRange as c
dim First as n
dim Last as n
if vPage = "1"
first = 1
last = 10
elseif vpage = "2"
first = 10
last = 20
end if
and so on...
if vRange = "Range"
vRange = ".and."+between_record(first, last)
end if

vRange is a part of a more elaborate query.filter

My saved URL string:
vName = Request.Script_Name
vString = word(Request.Query_String,1,"&vRange=")
vURL = vName+"?&"+vString
if containsx(vString,"&")
vURL2 = vName+"?"+word(Request.Query_String,1,"&vRange=")

But the results have been reliable. If a better and more efficient is offered, I would appreciate it.
