xDialog embedded Grid

I am embedding a grid in a xdialog box and opening a modal window to edit details. See picture for details.

I want to rename the Window on the fly but am having trouble getting access to the method of the window object to change a title.

I can do it using this JavaScript when the window opens using the Window Name.

var row = {Grid.RowNumber};
var x = {Grid.object}.getValue('G','WIP',row);
var windowName = 'WINDOW_49084098_5c27_499c_b1a1_65a2058c12a3';
{Grid.object}.getWindow(windowName).setTitle('Wip # '+x);

But every time I make a change to the window object using action javascript, the Window name changes and I have to look it up and manually change my code. I tried using the object name used in the video demo but it didn't work (this is not a 'detail' window, like in the demo). I also tried using the Window Alias for the window but I can't find a method to get the pointer to the window and change to title while using an Alias.

I guess my real problem is that I can't find any documentation on the objects and all the methods and functions we can use.

I found a way to do it. I am posting it here for future reference for anyone.

I added

{Grid.object}._genericWindow.childWindowName1 = windowName;

to the Javascript onInitialize in the action javascript where I open the new window.

Since this is run inside the new window object I can grab the 'windowName' variable and report it back to an object that I actually know the name of ({Grid.object}._genericWindow) and create a variable inside of that called childWindowName1 to store the windowName.

Then added an inline JavaScript after the window opens.

var row = {Grid.RowNumber};
var x = {Grid.object}.getValue('G','WIP',row);


var windowName = {Grid.object}._genericWindow.childWindowName1;
if (windowName != '') {
	{Grid.object}._genericWindow[windowName].setTitle('Wip # '+x+' <span id=foo></span>');
}
else {
	alert('Lost Pointer');
}
