Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Download errors for 2924_3560 exe files

Is any one else having problems with 2924_3560 downloads? When I first attempted to download (Save) the full patch from the Main Download area I was taken to the FileKicker website so cancelled that.

I then tried to download(Save) the Runtime which twice appeared successful but Norton then deleted the exe stating that there were multiple errors with the file.

Next I tried the Main Download for the full patch again. This time the exe file was created properly but I have not yet dared to Run it.

I tried the Runtime downloads again from both areas. Each time I was told the download was successful but I was unable to Open the Folder at the Prompt and found that the exe had not been saved, or had been saved and then deleted by Norton.

There seem to be some bugs here!

Both seem to be working just fine for me. But, I'm not using Norton, and I'm stateside. I think maybe either the problem is with your internet connection, your Norton installation setup, or possibly your download requests arrived at a time when their system was busy with overnight backups or something. Suggest you try again.

      Thanks for your suggestions Tom.

Have just tried again. Norton will not accept the runtime exe from the Main Download area. I have no apparent similar problems.

I have the same problem with Norton Internet 2010 Quarantining the Runtime patch (Saying that it contains WS.Reputation1) detected by Download Insight
The Full desktop patch was OK

Hi I can confirm that I have no problem with either download here in the UK - we use the Network version of Norton.
If you continue to have problems I could post you a disk.

Hi Bob. Thanks for your offer. I have another computer which does not use Norton. I'll try that and report back.

Kaspersky Internet Security is not reporting an issue with the runtime download here.

                Hi All,

My downloads are OK but I cannot see any release notes explaining any recent fixes for this build.

Michael, one source for these is the on the same download page you used to get the patches.

Yes, two days ago I got a virus warning while downloading (on my laptop with Vista).
But curious I cannot repeat it and also do not know who send the warning Windows Defender or Avira.

I should have taken more attention to this process.

                      For information

I gave up on downloading the runtime patch and loaded the full runtime, using my original order link and reinstalled the runtime. This worked without any problems.

I got same problem on Run Time Patch. If you go to Norton Community sight
(http://community.norton.com/t5/Norto...C09477F450A16B) you will see Norton having big problems with false positives with Version 2010 on many downloads.

One post there suggested going to main Norton window, select change settings, select Web Configuration and then turn off "Download Intelligence" setting. I did this and Run Time Patch downloaded completely normally.

This looks like it is a Norton problem but they haven't provided a final fix yet.
