Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Picking Field Dates

I have a set with one child. Browse1 is the parent and Browse 2 the child. Each record of the child has 2 date fields. Having set on the Change Record Restriction of the Browse2 when I add a record and try to select a date from the calendar it shows nothing. If I set off the Change Record Restrictions I can select the date from the calendar and the date show up.
Please see the link with the video:

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Re: Picking Field Dates

Looks like a bug to me that should be reported (may need to include a sample application). However, before doing that I would at least make sure that exiting the application and A5 and restarting with that restriction in place does not magically cure the problem.

I agree this seems like a bug. Follow Raymons advise and let us know what the outcome is, please.

I exited and the problem is the same. Please advise how to send a bug report. I selected Help->Send A Bug Report but then I do not know where to email the files.

        Thanks.

This is what I receive :
            *****************************

Instructions on How to Send a Useful Bug Report
We would like to be able to respond to your bug report as quickly as possible. You can ensure that we do respond quickly by following the guidelines listed below:
Do not send requests for technical support as Bug Reports.
Include step-by-step instructions on how to duplicate the bug.
In many cases, in order to repeat a bug, we will need your database files. If necessary, please attach the database files to your bug report. (Remember to tell us the password if the database has one.)
To send database files with your bug report, go to the Tools menu at the Control Panel, and select the Zip database command. That will allow you to create a .zip file which you can attach to your bug report.
Remember - If we can't repeat your bug, we can't fix it. So please be sure to send instructions on how to repeat the problem, and also send the necessary files.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Sending a picture of a bug is NOT A SUBSTITUTE for sending instructions on how to repeat the bug.

            *****************************

            Thanks

yes...me too. and then when I push the "OK" button, my default email is brought up with the "To:" filled in withThis just happens to be from the v9 help.

If you have your email set up and working and this does not happen, then something is amiss.
