Conditional object deactivates right click menu

When a conditional object is used on a form the right click menu is partially deactivated. This happens after a condition is defined for the conditional object. I attached a sample. Is this logical behavior or should this not happen?

It's doing what it should be doing. Right clicking below your dotted line is right clicking on one of the form's objects, in this case a conditional object. So the options on a right click should be very different from right clicking on empty space on the form. Compare the options when you right click on the text object you have above the dotted line. Also, drag the right edge of your form to expand it to the right a bit and then right click on this new empty space to the right of your conditional object. It all makes perfect sense to me--unless I am missing something!

I must be missing something obvious. Here is what I see. When a bitmap is placed on an empty form the right click menu stays intact for the whole form. When a text field is placed on an empty form the right click menu also stays intact. When a table field is placed on an empty form the right click menu is partly disabled. However it can be reactivated by setting the properties for that field (field properties, menus/Toolbars). The conditional object in this scenario is the only object that disables the right click menu without being able to set the properties to function otherwise.

I changed the form properties and activated the custom right click menu. I selected the table field and activated the custom right click menu. Is there a third property I should change to activate the right click menu for one form? Maybe I'm making this more difficult then it is and hopefully there is actually one way to simply select the right click menu for everything on the form.

First, I assumed, probably mistakenly, that you meant right clicking in design mode. But now I see you have a custom right click menu for viewing the form. Then again, I'm not sure it matters.

Could you be talking about right clicking on the "table field" rather than on empty space on the form? Unless you set your custom menu for right clicking on fields (either directly on the form or on a conditional object), your custom menu is only going to be there when right clicking on empty space on the form itself. And empty space on your conditional object is not empty space on the form. And no, there is no way to have a custom right click menu for the conditional object itself. Arguably there should be, but there isn't. Maybe you should make it a wish list item.

One way of maybe dealing with your issue is to make the conditional object as small as possible for the objects on it, and if those objects are fields you can set them to have your custom menu.

Also note that after all "table fields" are on the form it is easy to set all of them to have your custom right click menu (see image below).

Thanks for your input. It helped to find a relatively easy work around. I placed two overlapping empty text fields on the form (I couldn't get it to work with only one text field). The right click menu now also works on the conditional object. I attached an example for others who run in to the same problem. I'll put it on futures wishlist.

You're welcome. Interesting solution you came up with. But FYI you don't need 2 overlapping empty text objects (they are objects, not fields) though I suppose it doesn't hurt anything. All you need is one, roughly the same size as the conditional object, probably just barely inside its borders. If you make it too much inside the borders you will have a tiny area where right clicking does not use you custom menu. But is easy to size so the result is what you are after. However, like I said, I doubt there is anything wrong with your 2 overlapping objects. In any case, make this a wish list item so maybe one day we won't have to make do with work-arounds.

Thanks for the information on fields an objects.

I used two text objects to prevent an area where the right click menu doesn't work. It also prevents the user from thinking there are other hidden menus and options.
