Hello -
I'm new to Alpha and am attempting to duplicate an application written in another product over to A5v10. I'm getting a handle on the basics, and am now working to add some functionality. I've been using the training guides available as much as possible to try to work through this before posting - but I'm stuck. Here's where I'm at so far:
The expression asks to show the results as a date(Due_Date):- Customer_enroll_date plus Days_Out to arrive at Due_Date. (I'll need to build a query to find these dates on an ongoing basis.)
The Customer_enroll_date is in Customer table (primary)
The Due_date is in Detail_Table (child - one to many)
I'm attempting to show the results of a calculated field or expression in a browse (the Due_Date). I've tried both - at the field rule level and form level. The expression results show it's correct in the expression builder, but the result does not show in the browse field. I've used fully qualified names as directed in Alpha help, depending on where it was written.
However, when I add a new calculated field from the Tool Box, then drag it to the browse, the resulting data shows. Can I query on calculated fields written from the tool box?
Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. Any assistance or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
Mark
