Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Can not create PDF

In both version 10.5 and V11 system hangs when trying to create pdf.errorv11.png

    Re: Can not create PDF

A common mistake is to try to "print to" the A5 pdf driver. No can do. Instead, preview the report then "Save As" pdf. Check the user's guide for details.

      Re: Can not create PDF

That is what I am doing.
However I did find on the Wiki an article that states that the Amuni Pdf writer was updated and it is possible Im using an older version. So I am uninstalling v10 and V11 uninstalling the pdf printer and doing a full re install. Will see if that fixes it.

Some other details are also generally helpful in diagnosing the issue.

        Windows version?
        32 or 64 bit
        Alpha Developer or Runtime

            Re: Can not create PDF

I uninstalled both v10 and V11 removed the amuni pdf drivers from the control panel. Rebooted reinstalled only V11 and still does not work. It does create a 0 byte file with a pdf extension though.

Ok where are you trying to save the pdf? I hear win7 doesn't like to do that in the c:\ directory.

I than tried to print directly to the amyuni printer driver and got the following error message:
As you should. The Amyuni driver is not licensed or activated for printing. It is licensed by Alpha for internal use in generating the .pdf, .rtf, etc saveas output.

Something on your Win7 machine is preventing the driver from installing or installing correctly.

                        Re: Can not create PDF

Is the A5 printer the default printer? If so add another default printer. As Stan said, you cannot print to the A5 printer that is installed.

No it is not the default Printer. Will install v11 on another Win 7 machine and see If the problem persists. error_devices.png

                              HI Tom,
I have tried both ways. Was emailing Selwyn back and forth yesterday we tried a number of things, nothing worked. I have contacted Amyuni support and see if they respond with any ideas. I did install V11 on another Win7 machine and it worked without any problems.
