Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Unable to click 2nd, 3rd..... rows on browse.

    Hello All:

    Screenshot attached.

    I am unable to click on any rows beside the 1st one. the first one is in focus. But I would like to click the second one.

    This is what I have (on the form) as OnFetch

    Code:
    datafilter="((sku = .t.  ) .and. (new = .t.  ))"
    topparent:tables:merchandise.filter_expression =  datafilter
    topparent:tables:merchandise.order_expression = "est"
    topparent:tables:merchandise.query()
    The reason being that I need to filter data (just load specific data). What is interesting when I take the top code out i am able to select the 2nd, 3rd row. I do need the filter and I need to be able to select the 2nd and 2nd+n rows at any time. I am wondering if i need any sort of close statement or something.

    Can anybody help?

    Thanks.

    Why are you putting this filter on the Onfetch event? What exactly are you trying to accomplish? It seems that the OnFetch is firing, and the filter happening and then RETURNING focus to the first row, so it appears that you are not able to select the second row. You could put a button on the Browse rows and fire the filter from the browse button click event. That would filter the table and then allow you to select one of the filtered records. Or place the filter code on a button off the browse. I'd remove the code from the OnFetch event.

      I need to update the browse data all the time (because product status will change all the time). Maybe there is a better way of doing it (like using button). Although i wanted automatically, and don't have any idea how.

        Re: Unable to click 2nd, 3rd..... rows on browse.

        You need to refilter the browse after making a change so you see only certain records? Try the onsave event instead of the onfetch.

          You can place the base filter of the form with that filter and then refresh the form and browse on a timer or manually.

            Hi Stan:

            Record status changes happening on other form. The form I attached is for viewing purpose and clicking only. I will try the on save event though, and see how it works.

            Hi Mike:
            I tried that filter. It seems buggy to me. Does not work 50% of the time. That is why I added that code.

            Thanks guys.

              Onsave event for the browse will only fire when you make a change in the browse and navigate to another record or otherwise save the change.

                Put the form filter code on the OnTimer form event and set the form timer to whatever refresh time you would like.
