Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Need Help Report

I am having trouble printing all of the records.
this reoport is 15 pages and there is a record or 2 sometimes that does not print on the same page as shown in the attached pics, page 7 and page 8.
I have had this problem before and it usually was an overlapping field on the report. I have went through all of the fields and have tried to make sure that there is no overlapping. I have went into properties and selected Shrink band and not selected. I save after every change. and still not having any luck. any suggestions?
    Thanks,

well after 2 hours I got it to work, not sure what I did but I finally got it. I checked all of the fields that were set to "Growable" and un-checked that and that may have been what did it, not sure

Is the record at the bottom of page 7 the same as that at the top of page 8? Looks to me like the description wouldn't fit on the first page, so it was printed in full next page.

Try setting 'Region->Keep together on page' in the detail section region properties.

hey thanks, i tried that. didn't help, it is the same record but 2 differnt fields. it is like the math is wrong on the height dimensions of the field because the first few pages were ok and then it skips. I have had this on other reports and I just keep changing things until it works but I was not having any luck with this but finally got it.

I see that, that is the only record that does that. the field is set to "word wrap", all the other fields the word wrap works, but that field the only thing at the end of the phase is W in the worg glow.
so i widened that field enough for the whole word shows, and now the problem comes back at the bottom of the page again, i changed the width back and at least the fields of 1 record is on the same page

Does the last word get chopped if you print or create a PDF?
Can you reduce the font size or resize other fields to get everything on a single line?
Do you have 'Allow Growth' AND/OR 'Allow Shrinking' selected for the field? Maybe choose 'allow shrinking' and expand the field to 2 rows
Try enlarging one of the other fields in detail to be 2 rows deep
