Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

    Consultant Needed

    Hello Alphaholics.

I hope that is the correct salutation, my apologies if I error.

I am in need of simple data base and 1 report. (I think)

I own a messenger service where my customers call my CSRs and order delivery service. They tell us the company name to pick up from and the company name of where it is to be delivered. They also specify one of four levels of service, or time sensitivity.

I need to historically enter the service request in a table or set? The fields would be,
    1. Date
    2. Callers Name
    3 Account #
    4. Pick Up Company (name)
    5 Delivery company (name)
    6 Service Level
    A) Regular
    B) Bag Rush
    C) Rush
    D) One hour

I need to generate a report grouped by account # and give a total for each level of service.

    Ex:
(Group Header- Change in Acct # starts new page and repeats on each page)
    Account # 210 Regular 65 Bag Rush18
    Rush 37 One Hour 7

    (Detail Section 6 columns)
Date, Caller, Account#, Pick Up From, Deliver To , Service,

    05/05/08, Cathy, 210, ABC Company, Cathy 210,Rush

    Field Rules

    Date,
Previous value by default is OK (A5 V1 allowed Control D to fill previous value gone now?)

    Caller
    No rule

    Account #
    Always Required

    Pick Up Company
Previous Value, Allow any/ fill only on popup

    Delivery Company
Previous Value, Allow any/ fill only on pop up

    Service Level
Simple List, of the four options?

Is there an Alphaholic who can provide me with the described DB & Report?
I am aware there are many considerations to improve the detail and reporting aspects of this project. I created the same result (report) many years ago with A5v1 and my customers are accustomed to the format, therefore I need not deviate form its simplicity.

For some reason I do not seem to have the drive or brain power to get this done, again, so I ask the community to help. I spoke with one expert already who estimated 2 to 3 days to complete this DB. Oh really?

Please contact me either via this board or by E-Mail or calling my toll free # with
    Any questions you may have,
    A time frame for completion
An estimated cost and Payment Options, Pay Pal, credit card, Invoice/company check.

Thank you for your time and assistance

    A wannbee Alphaholic
