temporary mpx files

How do I get rid of temporary mpx files ?
when I try to use tbl.query_detach_all() I get the following message even though the table and all of it's forms are closed

One way possibly would be a file deletion as your app starts each time? They may not have all gotten deleted even though you have detached them. They also do not want to be deleted if they think they are getting used. On start (autoexec script) can call a script (or other) to mass delete them. It could even call a batch file ( not as nice as a script though).

That script Charlie Crimmel posted was created by me in 2002 - I imagine he just didn't remember where it came from. Here's a minor update that also puts it into a function. I keep it in my code library for easy access. I've been using this in the autoexec of virtually every app I've built since 2002 and it has solved the problems for me. It doesn't always remove every "$$" file because sometimes they are still being used. However, it does keep them from building up to ridiculous numbers.

Disclaimers:

1. I'm not absolutely positive that there is no need to include the new v8/9 "Application Data" folders but so far I haven't seen any issues there on my system. If anyone finds a reason to add those, please let me know.

2. It's not the best coding technique but it works so I'm not messing with it. (We all had to start somewhere and I've learned a lot since 2002.)

After searching the archives again I found a function A5_ForceCloseTables() which closes all tables that do not have an open window, I think this solves my problem
