Another Phone dialer question

Is there a way with a5v9 for the dial prompt not to come up just to use local machine modem settings for dialing. When i use dial field phone it gets the number and prompts me to complete.

Hi Steve,

You mean that there is a request for the user to press the Dial button?

Just like as if you would use a real phone. Sounds good to me.

Here is the prompt i'm talking about i enclosed a screen shot, i don't want to have another click, i just want it to open the modem line dial the number then after say 5-10 seconds the modem hangsup, if the user is on the line the phone will keep the call open, i just want the modem to dial the #'s

I would assume you need a TAPI compliant dialer with a command line interface. You could then attach an action to an A5 button that passed the telephone number to the external dialer .exe when executed by A5.

We are looking at something from OAK at the moment, but its part of a bigger office wide upgrade, and probably isnt that relevant. I presume googling TAPI CLI or TAPI command line interface may get you something applicable.

Steve,

The modem in your PC communicates through a serial port. If it is assigned to either Com1 or Com2, there is a utility that was written by Jim Chapman that should allow you to address the modem directly.

Jim's utility is called sendstr.exe and it can be found at http://www.learn alpha.com/SendStr/SendStr.htm

Once you succeed in making Alpha5 talk to the modem, the command you would want to send to dial the telephone number 1-800-555-1212 is as follows...

ATDT18005551212

The AT is the "attention" command to wake the modem up so to speak.

The D means you want to dial a number

The next T means that you want to use tone dialing

Most if not all of todays dial up modems use some variation of the Hayes command set. Googling Hayes Command Set will result in a ton of information about the commands you can send to a modem.

Does anyone has a solution to why we can hear the person we called but he cannot hear us? We can hear him but he can't hear us.

Did you check your mike was plugged in correctly?
