Hi All,
I am one of the Alpha 5 V7 users who got bit by the Windows Vista incompatibility bug VERY shortly after purchasing A5V7.
I am now considering purchasing A5V9 Standard with a Runtime license, but want to know how it performs on the Windows 7 Beta before doing so.
I am aware that A5V10 is either in, or going into, Beta, and wonder if part of the reason for the new version is for Windows 7 compatibility, as was version 8 for Windows Vista.
Is anyone testing V9 on Win7 at this time, and if so, have you discovered any bumps in the road? I have sent Richard R. a couple of emails requesting info on this subject and for whatever reason he has not responded to them (in the last 10 days or so) and that worries me a little. I create apps for people who cannot afford to hire the expensive programmers to create their applications for them (i.e. not for profit organizations and very small businesses) and do it mainly for the challenge as well as a hobby. Therefore I cannot afford to keep purchasing new versions every year or so just to keep up with Windows incompatibilities.
I have been running the V9 demo for about a week and a half on Windows 7, and have had not had any problems with it, but I have not gotten into any serious functions or into the report section very deeply as of yet.
Any insight as to whether I should upgrade now or wait until version 10 is released would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Ken
