Hey Guys... I have been trying to figure this out for the past two months but just can't crack it. Here is what I am trying to do.
Database tracks chemical mixtures. Table has Mixture Name and Version Number. When a new Mixture is created, user enters the Mixture Name and the Version Number is calculated to be 1. If a user wants to create a new version of the mixture, push button and new form opens with identical field values except the Version No has been incremented by 1. Also, if there are 25 versions of one Mixture and the user goes to version number 5 and decides to make a new version, all field values from version 5 would be copied but the Version No would be incremented to 26.
Below is the pseudocode that Tom Cone sent. I am very new at this but have learned plenty trying to figure this out. There are a few items in this code that I have no idea how to write. I have been trying to do this in Action Scripting. Any help is much appreciated.
In pseudocode this function would:
Open the table of mixtures/versions
Set the index to the concatenated
Fetch_find the first mixture
Step through the records until you get to the last version
Capture and increment that version value
Enter a new mixture/version record with an incremented field value
close the supporting table
Increment the captured value and use it in the new record being entered in the main table.
