1. I startup with a view maximised. When I click on a link for a new view that I want to be centred, the original view become a minimised view. If the view is maximised the new view also appears maximised. No settings appear to change this problem. I can do a work around by making the new view modal and this does what I want - centre the view. This is ok as I do not need any menus however this leads to problem two.
2. When doing a report from the modal view, the report is also modal and I do not get its print menus, even though it supposed to be modless. I have tried closing the first form before going to the report but it does not work. The form does not close until you close the report, so the modal problem stays. I have tried setting the original form from maodal to modless but same result.
It seems to me that unless all widows are in the modless mode and reduced to its form size I cannot get view result that suits my needs.
I understand that modal takes away some script aspects when loading, but would have thought it should not be an issue when leaving the form. None of this would be an issue if the startup maximised form did the what it was supposed to do - that is stay maximised and allow the next modless view to be centred based on its size.
The only way it all works properly is if the startup form is not started as maximised. To me this really takes away from the feel that I want to achieve. Am I missing some vital property in the setup
