Import table data function

I would like to be able provide to end users a menu item in my database which calls the File |Import Data routine which is on the Alpha 5 main toolbar. I can't seem to find this in the docs and wonder whether such a function exists. It seems like it would be a good idea to have this available to an end user who has a large database in Excel or whatever and needs to import it into a dbf in my application.

Any help would be appreciated.

If your end users are working in the runtime environment I don't believe the import, or any other operation, genie dialogs are available (by design).

If you know the structure of the file that the end user might want to import you can design the operation and tie that to a menu choice or button.

will show the import data genie, etc.

Thanks for the information. the A5_new Import_operation is not documented anywhere. I looked all over the help for any type of import function before I posted.

Where is this function found and what are the parameters .t., .t. specifying?
