Hello, This is "rocks4brains" again.
This is really simple in my old application Db platform..7 secs to create.
1. ON a FORM:
2. User completes a type-in table field called ChemCompound.
3. The next field is CheckCompound.
4. CheckCompound has to be a calculated field.
5. I would like it to be NON-TABLE field but I gave up on ever getting that idea to work. (3 hrs = give it up!)
6. So, I added it to the table as CheckCompound.
7. Set it to calculated in Field Rules.
8. Set the calculation to the result of a Function called
CCChk(CheckCompound).
9. It can have 3 results:
A. "n/a" if CheckCompound is empty.
B. "Compound Valid" if the CheckCompound has a valid entry.
C. "Compound Error" if the CheckCompound is an Invalid.
That works.
-------------------------
I have NO idea how to change the APPEARANCE OF CheckCompound field DEPENDING on it's resultant value:
It's Font is default set to White, Border box is Dk Green.
-------------------------
HOW do I make:
Font WHITE and BORDER box RED if it's value is "Compound Error"
Font GREEN and BORDER box WHITE if it's value is ""n/a".
-------------------------
You can answer during Cowboys/Vikings Time out.
Currently: C=3 V=14. Boo hoo.
I have mixed feelings cause I want Bret to retire as a SuperBowl winning QB.
Old folks need heroes too.
