Bonus TIPS for Successful Posting

Try a Search First
It is highly recommended that a Search be done on your topic before posting, as many questions have been answered in prior posts. As with any search engine, the shorter the search term, the more "hits" will be returned, but the more specific the search term is, the greater the relevance of those "hits". Searching for "table" might well return every message on the board while "tablesum" would greatly restrict the number of messages returned.

When you do post
First, make sure you are posting your question in the correct forum. For example, if you post an issue regarding Desktop applications on the Mobile & Browser Applications board , not only will your question not be seen by the appropriate audience, it may also be removed or relocated.

The more detail you provide about your problem or question, the more likely someone is to understand your request and be able to help. A sample database with a minimum of records (and its support files, zipped together) will make it much easier to diagnose issues with your application. Screen shots of error messages are especially helpful.

When explaining how to reproduce your problem, please be as detailed as possible. Describe every step, click-by-click and keypress-by-keypress. Otherwise when others try to duplicate your problem, they may do something slightly different and end up with different results.

A note about attachments
You may only attach one file to each message. Attachment file size is limited to 2MB. If you need to include several files, you may do so by zipping them into a single archive.

If you forgot to attach your files to your post, please do NOT create a new thread. Instead, reply to your original message and attach the file there.

When attaching screen shots, it is best to attach an image file (.BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, etc.) or a zip file of several images, as opposed to a Word document containing the screen shots. Because Word documents are prone to viruses, many message board users will not open your Word file, therefore limiting their ability to help you.

Similarly, if you are uploading a zipped archive, you should simply create a .ZIP file and not a self-extracting .EXE as many users will not run your EXE file.

Ken is right as the five or so links I found to any addons/third party softwares are currently broken....they take you to a v10 sales page instead. And the search, instead of searching the Alpha website, now redirects you to Alphapedia which has nothing about buying any addon.

Sure, Ken is right. But as you point out, it can't be done!

I hoped someone from AS would see my post -- and they did. I am advised that Netmailer can be purchased for $199. The website is silent on this (I can see why). I am instructed to purchase it directly from the Service Rep who contacted me.

Do I recall correctly that a few versions back, Netmailer was either bundled or could be downloaded for free?

It has been bundled a few times for v10 (a different netmailer BTW) and think once or twice in v9 as well.....I have never seen it offered for free as a separate offer....a sale here or there perhaps, but not ever free. And be aware that there is a development version (that is offered) and a runtime version --separate entities.

Curious as to what purpose do you wish to use it for? I ask as I have a small possible addon that does some things but not necessarily a bulk email program.

Why can't it be done? Here are 2 ways to do it and you found a 3rd way.

Why not wait for the "Billy Mayes" special of the week (or day or hour)? Netmailer will be offered for free when purchasing v10.5 for $139 (the latest LIMITED offer). All offers that 'end' today will be repeated by next Tuesday!

Because I, at least, was unable to find the product on the AS website. Try a search -- you'll get instructions on how to use it.

John, that's downright brlliant. I can upgrade to v. 10.5 for $-60! What a company.

What I meant was that it seems way overpriced, esp. when my last version was bundled with the software.

                  > what purpose do you wish to use it for?

I manage a college class website. We're all over 74, and I'd like to let the rest of the class -- 550 emails -- know when obits are posted to the website. (we get about 3-4 a month)

When the search failed, could you not have called Alpha at 781.229.4500? I would have done that or sent an email to them.
