This looks like the equivalent of using a browse method, without having to find the record number first. Which would be good to use for changing just that one record. Can we assume the table pointer is following the same order of the browse even if they are not in record number order? The example uses a fetch_next(), so if the user sorts the records in the order he wants, he can then pick which records to change from the record he has placed the cursor?

Looks like a great function for this. My idea would be more for making changes to all the records in the browse, though this function could do the same.

I could not find the <tbl>.get_cursor() from my A5 Help. Did you mean <???>.get_cursor()?

John, I'm using the wiki help system. (Alphapedia). using the "search wiki page" text box I entered what I told you...

tbl.get_cursor

If you're using the CHM help system I think you'll find it in the release notes under the catgory what's new... but I can't remember for which version.

I tried this in your xEst_Product script and got the message for No current quantity when line 4 was selected in the browse.

dim shared recno as n
recno = topparent:browse1.current_record()
tEstInd= table.get("estindirect")

tEstInd.fetch_goto(recno)

John, I haven't had a chance to check your zip file, but this may be a case where you should be using <tbl>.get_cursor(). Check the help file topic

Hi,

I have an weird case, my script does not read it from the first record when I selected the last record of the Browse or it start to read from slected browse line to last record.

Does your Alpha five goes to 1st record of table when you selected the last record of the Browse?
