Having trouble locating objects on form

I was wondering if there is a way to quickly get to a field object on the form. I was wondering if you can jump directly from a listing on the Explorer directly to the object on the form. I am currently having trouble finding a field on my form.

I was noticing that the following code was failing because the field can't be found:

IF :invoicing:active.value=.t. then
etc,etc,
END IF

I found that a field called "Active" after being dragged onto my form mysteriously had it's name changed to "active0" when I looked into it's properties. So I changed the code to :

IF :invoicing:active0.value=.t. then
etc,etc,
END IF

The code worked. So, thinking that "active0" was a second instance, I decided to try to find the original "active". So far I have had no luck any ideas? I noticed that "active0" is listed on the explorer but not "active"

What you probably did was drag the field onto the form while and object referencing that field already existed on the form. Alpha automatically named the second object referencing that field "active0". You probably deleted the original object referencing that field. Once you found the problem, you could have renamed the "active0" object back to "active" and left the script unchanged. When you looked at the explorer, the "active" object did not exist and the "active0" object did exist. Remember you are dealing with "object names" that by default bear the same names as the fields.

I deleted the "active" or rather "active0" field off the form and it disappeared off the explorer. I located the field on the field list and then I dragged it back onto the form. It still shows as "active0" in the properties! What to do? what to do? I am starting to get obsessive compulsive about house cleaning this code!

If you're looking at the xbasic explorer and under objects-windows-"form_name" you don't see an object called "active" then try compacting the database. Remember, you could have accidentally named a text or button object "active" and it would exhibit the exact same behavior.

I tried compacting, several times in fact still no luck. There is still nothing on the form called "active" other than the firld I dragged on. Futhermore, I find that this form in particular is acting strange in the sense that If I try to get it up in design mode by right clicking, the handy little menu doesn't pop-up. Sometimes everything would freeze and I would have to do a ctrl-alt-del the system responds after some time by finally asking if I want to save the form. Of course this may be related to a problem I am having with the "maximum stack depth exceeded" message.
