I have a database which I have developed locally and then copy the libraries over to 3 different copies on the network. I use the following to 3 different locations on the network as I use 3 different copies for 3 different locations:
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.ddm" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.ddd" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.ddx" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.sem" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.set" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.sex" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.adb" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.alb" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.alm" g:\alpha\Gardena
copy "c:\alpha\invoice\*.alx" g:\alpha\Gardena
After copying I have always compacted the databases before using them. Recently things have gone astray. When I compact the first database everything is fine for that copy. When I compact the second copy the first copy seems to loose it's relationship to child records. I then re-compact the first copy and then the second copy looses it's relationship to child records. Samething on the third copy etc.
The only thing that has been successful it going into each table and set and do an update indexes on each copy. Then all 3 work fine.
I thought I might be referrencing something hard coded locally but I have done a trace of the compact in the recorder and the only files it touches are the network copies. i.e. g:\alpha\gardena.
Does anyone have any ideas?
