Alpha Gurus.......Here's my problem.
I recently found my db was corrupt when I tried to do a routine pack. It currently has over 55,000 entries. I exported groups of records until I cleaned up all obvious corrupt records. It now will export all records and fields. If I try and pack it still is hanging on the pack and of course the fpt file is immense (over 115 gb). Tech support suggested copying groups of records to see where the offending record(s) lie. I cannot copy any records beyond a certain point (rec.# 27,750). Anything beyond this point either hangs in the copy mode or it returns an error that states "corrupt arena". I absolutely need to fix this as billing is currently upon me. Any suggestions? I tried exporting and importing, however I am not familiar enough with the settings for this for it to be successful yet. Incidently, I'm not sure when this "accident" actually occurred because the records I'm trying to fix are actually from my back up discs. After this I still need to check records in the current db and fix any that are corrupt after a date in of 01/13/2003. I believe the best thing I could do is export them now since I do not get an error message, but I need to know what the correct settings are to export them and then immediately import them back into my db after I empty the db. I need them intact. Oh and of course I have 2 memo fields (probably the original culprits). I would certainly entertain any and all suggestions. Thanks.....Scott Naples
