Hi,

I have set up an array on a field which opens and looks at a table of items and shows a list of suppliers from it (filtered via an index to show only unique suppliers).

What I need to do know is cut that list a little further to show only the relevant suppliers which relate to the current invoice.

As the form is on a set with the array table used the child of the set I have created a global variable which holds the value of the current inv no to use in the script.

i have tried putting this filter as part of the index but it just filters everything out or nothing (I believe this is because of the 1-many set link)

So how would i via xbasic take the array and filter it further to only inc items where a different field = the variable value???

Mike,

maybe you need two arrays. One that's unfiltered, which will serve as the source, and the second that will be displayed on your form, which contains the filtered items. Just have your script blast through the unfiltered array, copying the right items to the filtered array, and display it. Should be quite fast, since no retrievals from disk are required (as long as the source is relatively static).

If this is happening while data entry to the source list is ongoing, you may want to retrieve another copy of the source data from disk, instead of from the unfiltered array. Your choice will depend on whether you want to capture in the filtered array items that have just been entered in the table.
