Hi all,
I'm new to A5 and databases in general (I'm just an intern on the job for a little over a month) and I've been tasked with creating/maintaining a few A5 dbs. I found this great community and thought I would take advantage of it. As I've said before, I'm new to dbs but have significant VB and C++ experience, so I'm a glutton for action scripts and xbasic, even when field rules and a properly designed set should do. I've noticed a reproducible bug (at least on my system) with my forms. If I have any "complicated" action associated with the oninit event of a form (ie. saved query, run operation, normally a value set doesn't hurt, though) or any event that happens immediately on the form's initialization (I've tried attaching the script to the onactivate event of the first object to recieve focus) the form always uses the default form size, regardless of what I have defined. If I put an action such as a message box before the "complicated" action, the form uses my defined size, presumably because the form has time to resize itself while the message box waits for a click. I have always been able to find workarounds (autoexec, attaching the code on the previous form's onexit event, etc.), but I find it annoying and I would like to know if it's just my system, my practices, or an honest to goodness A5 bug.
Thanks,
John
