Can anyone helpe me out with this one?
I have the latest build of the beta (1215) which I have loaded on my home machine which uses WinXP professional. I am particularly interested in using the ActiveX controls.
When I try to add a Static ActiveX control to a blank form the first thing I notice using the create new control radio button option is that not all the registered controls appear in the list to choose from. If I then choose one of the listed controls and save the form, I cannot then re-open the form as it always reverts to the default form associated with that table. Also, if I then try to open the form in design view I get the error message "cannot open :Storecreate error".
If I then set up the beta on another machine that uses Win98SE, I have none of the above problems - all the registered Active X controls are listed, I can save the form and open it OK, etc.
Does anyone have any clues what could be causing the unfriendly behaviour on XP? I have set up the program to run in W98 compatibility mode under XP. I have administrator user privileges under XP. I am also using Norton Anti-virus and wonder whether this may be causing some problems with writing to/checking the registry wher all the info on the ActiveX controls is stored.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
