I want to make just a simple printed report of the certain columns in a ADB labeled- "Paid","First","LastName","Street Address","Phone".
The Pace guide book says: Go to Control panel and select "reports" tab. I have no "reports tab" in that ADB control panel only Table/sets,Layouts,Operation,Card stacks & Code tabs. Then the book says on Control panel toolbar click New, in the New Object dialog box there is no data source listed, only Table and Set. Set only brings up a Set editor screen for links which presents no selection of my ADB columns.
Then, if I go to the "Alpha Five Made Easy" book and it says to make a Quick Report go to Alpha Five Control panel Tab "Reports" then New and select Set and then Next and choose "Use Quick Report". There is no QuickReport option presented. I can see in the book how to use the Quick Report, but how the heck do I get to Quick Reports in order to use it. The Quick report menu card never shows up.
I can see why all the questions in this forum are very technical as the A5v5 certainly is not a novice user friendly program. Often the documentation does not seem to follow what I see on the screen. Maybe a guide cannot be written so that beginners can use basics quickly.
I realize A5v5 is complex, but never dreamed it would be so difficult and time consuming to do the simplist things that other db programs make so easy.
I do not mean to complain, but after spending $300 plus and believing the advertising it is very frustrating. I'll keep fighting it, but for how long I don't know. I'll likely get kicked out of the forum before I really understand A5v5.
I know this question is wordy and long, but I have tried to explain just what I have done and it so far has been all to no avail.
